THE SEVEN

Foundations of a Good Life

To manifest true health, and, in fact, anything including amazing relationships, a fulfilling career, and happiness, an energetic alignment is needed between our body, mind, and soul. This energetic alignment then creates what is called the “healing flow” state, which is the opposite of the “stress” state. Multiple studies support that there are ways to bring us back into this “healing flow” state so we can thrive instead of surviving and ultimately have optimum health and energy.

Are You in a stress or healing state?

At Good Life Healing House, we work with seven major foundations in order to create the “healing flow” state in mind, body, and soul, as well as to facilitate healing at multiple levels. These seven foundations of a Good Life below support the pursuit of well-being by reducing the risk of chronic lifestyle-related diseases and enhancing vitality. However, it is important to note that this list is by no means exhaustive, nor is it the ultimate solution for all “dis-ease” that we, as human beings on this Earth, experience on our journey. But it is certainly a wonderful lifestyle focal point to activate the “healing flow” state.

STRESS STATE = SYMPATHETIC
HEALING STATE = PARASYMPATHETIC

Nutrition & Hydration

The basic foundation of health is loading the body with nutritious food and adequate hydration. To get the proper balance of vitamins, minerals, probiotics, polyphenols, and antioxidants, try eating a “rainbow” diet by including nutrient-dense whole foods, deeply colored plants, vegetables, fruits and tubers, healthy fats, nuts and seeds, herbs and spices, and fermented vegetables.
Equally important is hydration. Water is essential to life. It hydrates our cells and flushes toxins out of the body through perspiration, urination, and defecation. Drinking and even showering in clean, filtered, structured water with added electrons, hydrogen, and minerals is one of the best ways to ensure deep cellular hydration.

Movement

Incorporating natural movement into our everyday life is key for optimum health and longevity.
Going for a walk and spending time in nature (especially in the morning to optimize our circadian rhythm), taking the stairs instead of the elevator, playing with our kids, dancing with our loved ones, biking, and swimming in a natural body of water are all examples of how we can stay active during the day without stepping in a gym.

Sleep & Circadian Rhythm

Sleep is one of the most critical foundations of health and the most neglected in the modern world. Sleep produces complex neurochemical baths that improve all aspects of our health and ward off all manner of illness.
There is a master circadian clock in our body which is regulated by daylight and darkness. This circadian rhythm dictates the body’s hormone production and helps us to be naturally alert during the day and wind down after dark to prepare for sleep.
Managing this circadian rhythm drastically improves our sleep quality and energy levels throughout the day.

Emotional Life

Our emotional life can impact every aspect of our well-being. Unresolved emotional trauma from childhood is possibly the most under-exposed risk factor for all major chronic health conditions in the world today.
Also, being chronically stuck in a low emotional state such as anger, shame, guilt, or fear affects our immunity, gut health, brain health, and a whole host of mental imbalances.
Toxic relationships and being surrounded by energy vampires are another factor, zapping your energy on a daily basis. Empathic and sensitive personality types are particularly vulnerable to having their energy taken by others.

Social Life

Human beings are inherently social creatures. Social isolation and feelings of loneliness are detrimental to overall health. Lacking social connections and genuine human interaction leads to less longevity.
Feeling socially connected, especially in an increasingly isolated world, is more important than ever. Hence, optimizing our social connection for longevity and overall well-being is one of the foundations of a Good Life.

Environment

Our home environment is our safe haven. It is where we can have control and spend the majority of our time. We can all create a positive, toxin-free, and healing living space with conscious choices.
We can even get inspired by ancient systems such as Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui to turn our homes into a wellness sanctuary, use energy forces to harmonize with our surrounding environment, and create a healing space.

Toxicity

Accumulated toxic metals, chemicals, environmental toxins, and EMF pollution create a toxic load in our body, mind, and energy field. The toxic load enters our bodies through a variety of sources.
These systemic toxins are classified as human carcinogens. The key to optimum health is to enhance our body’s capacity to detoxify (get rid of toxins) while minimizing our exposure to toxins and making detox an essential part of our lifestyle.
